Bowmanville Zoo - Promoting Awareness and Understanding
Bowmanville is the largest community in Clarington, in the Durham region of Ontario, Canada. The community itself has a population of around 32,000 people, and has been noted in the past for its role as a Prisoner of War camp for Germans captured in Africa during World War Two. Today, one of the most interesting spots in Bowmanville is the city's zoo, the largest privately owned zoo to be found anywhere in Canada.
Animals: Wild on the Web!
The crowds at zoos and aquariums prove that humans love observing wild animals. If you don't live near such facilities, you can still get an up-close and personal view of an amazing array of species and habitats by visiting virtual zoos and aquariums.
